FRESHFARM Markets Announces a the Launch of One-of-a-Kind Culinary Delights Beginning in July
/By Susan Able | Edible DC
FRESHFARM Markets turns 25 years old this year. A huge milestone to for this nonprofit which has put farm markets on the map for DMV residents and healthy, local food into the hands of hundreds of thousands customers, and helped launch businesses for hundreds of farmers and food makers.
To celebrate their silver anniversary, FRESHFARM has partnered with its farmers and producers to create a “limited edition” of uniquely crafted, artisanal products to commemorate the nonprofits’ anniversary. The product line is called “FRESHFARM at 25” and will be available starting in July at FRESHFARM Markets.
To date, over twenty local farmers and producers have created limited edition products in honor of FRESHFARM’s anniversary, with more coming. According to Juliet Glass, FRESHFARM Communications Director, “This co-branding project has two goals: First, it elevates the farmers and food businesses that make our farmers markets a food lovers' destination and second, it creates a fun and delicious way for our market-goers to help us celebrate our silver anniversary.”
The participating farmers and producers are generously donating 25% of proceeds of their “FRESHFARM at 25” product sales to support FRESHFARM's core mission—developing innovative ways to solve critical food system problems across the DMV region and connecting people to their food through hands-on education, farmers markets, food access and food distribution programs.
Each item in this curated, limited-edition collection is made in small batches and tells a story unique to the maker and their place in the regional food community. Shoppers can find these “foodie-insider” treats by looking for a silver-embossed "FRESHFARM Limited Edition" seal.
