DC-area chefs are in the battle for their businesses' lives right now, and many in the culinary world are remaining open, offering delivery and contactless pick-up service, while also finding time to do some good, supporting worthy causes like DC Central Kitchen's COVID-19 Emergency Response Effort.

Join Edible DC's contributing writer Tim Ebner, as he talks with Alex Levin from the Schlow Restaurant Group, and Dontay Brown, General Manager of DC Central Kitchen's Nutrition Lab, for a conversation around how restaurants and nonprofits are teaming up to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.

Viewers can tune-in at Edible DC's Instagram channel on Friday, May 8th at noon EST for a live-virtual chat and Q&A about the restaurant industry's impact on emergency-food response efforts currently underway. We will talk about food supplies and local food systems, as well as tips and strategies for meal preparation to avoid food waste.

This event is sponsored by a family foundation that has generously contributed a $2,500 COVID-19 microgrant to fund more than 900 meals that DCCK will supply to DC school children and families in need throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. To match their generosity, we encourage all participants to consider a small donation to DCCK's COVID-19 Response fundraiser with a goal to reach $100,000 before our live event kicks off!

Please join us on Friday, May 8, at noon, and sign-up now to register in advance. Register here!
