Edible DC Brings Home Platinum and Gold Award

Edible DC wins prestigious 2021 Hermes Creative Awards for the print magazine.

The magazine’s cover and feature photography win top national awards

Edible DC is thrilled to announce two new Hermes Creative Awards, a Platinum Award for Print Cover for our Spring 2021 issue, and a Gold Award for our Feature Photography in the Summer 2021 issue.

Named after Hermes, the Greek god of communication, the Hermes Award honors the messengers and creators of the information revolution. The Hermes Creative Awards are an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, and design of traditional and emerging media, and recognize outstanding work in the industry.

“It’s a tremendous achievement for a local print publication like Edible DC with a small team and budget to be able to stand toe-to-toe with national public corporations and win Hermes Creative Awards at the Platinum and Gold level. It is a great honor for me to work with our talented team of contributors and Jennifer Chase, our Creative Director, who consistently stand up work that ranks nationally at the very top. It’s a David vs. Goliath situation, but from that tale, we know that small can still be mighty,” says Susan Able, Edible DC’s publisher.

Judges for the Hermes Creative Awards are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were about 6,500 entries from throughout the United States and dozens of other countries in the Hermes Creative Awards 2021 competition. About 17 percent of entries won Platinum, the top award, and around 20 percent the Gold Award.

Each year, competition judges evaluate the creative industry’s best publications, branding collateral, websites, videos, and advertising, marketing, and communication programs. The  Awards are administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).
