History Happy Hour @ The National Archives

The National Archives Foundation History Happy Hour features authors Derek Brown and Bob Yule with moderator Rose Previte (owner of Maydan and Compass Rose) talking about their new book on the history of cocktails, "Spirits, Sugar, Water, Bitters: How the Cocktail Conquered the World," The conversation will be an in-depth look at the cocktail from its humble beginnings to the current age, dubbed the Platinum Age. Before the roundtable discussion, five of D.C.'s top bartenders will mix up cocktails based on recipes from the book during a cocktail reception featuring the Moscow Mule by Gina Chersevani (Buffalo & Bergen) with Skyy Vodka, the Dry Martini by Duane Sylvestre (Campari Group) with Bulldog Gin, the Tequila Sunrise by Megan Barnes (Espita) with Espolon Tequila, the Getaway by Paul Taylor (Columbia Room) with Appleton Estate Rum, and the Manhattan by Tom Brown (The Passenger) using Wild Turkey Rye. All attendees will receive a book and the authors will be available to sign books. Tickets available here.
