The Maryland Farmers Market Association is excited to announce their third annual Feast for Farms and Families fundraiser to support Maryland Market Money, their statewide program that matches purchases made at participating farmers markets using federal food assistance. Restaurants and food businesses throughout the state are generously donating a portion of their proceeds to MDFMA on October 18th.
Maryland Market Money is a win-win: it doubles the purchasing power of low-income households to access fresh, local, nutritious foods AND provides revenue for local farmers.
We need your help in raising more than $180,000 to meet the demand for matching dollars at the 22 farmers markets participating in the program. With your support, we can provide 17,000+ low-income shoppers with bonus dollars to spend on fresh fruits, vegetables, and locally grown products from the 200+ farmers who rely on farmers markets to sustain their businesses.
Below is a list of partnering restaurants: pick a destination and feast with a purpose on October 18th! The proceeds from your meal will go directly to Maryland Market Money, helping us feed families and sustain farmers’ livelihoods all across the state.
